Vandis Team's Day of Service: Giving back to Long Island
Vandis Team's Partnership with Island Harvest: Strengthening Community Bonds
The Vandis team's participation in a day of service and giveback with Island Harvest is a testament to our commitment to strengthening community bonds on Long Island.
By partnering with Island Harvest, an organization dedicated to addressing food insecurity, Vandis can make a meaningful impact on the lives of Long Islanders in need.
Our team members chose two programs of service. The first was a day at the Island Harvest food bank, preparing food boxes for our seniors in the community. The Vandis team packaged over 700 boxes, filling 23 pallets, to provide 19,900 meals to our Long Island seniors.
The second day was spent at Island Harvest Farm weeding and harvesting. The organic farm, located in Brentwood, NY, spans two acres, and provides fresh produce to our community.
Addressing Hunger on Long Island: The Role of Corporate Social Responsibility
Hunger is a pressing issue on Long Island, affecting thousands of individuals and families. Through our day of service and giveback with Island Harvest, the Vandis team is playing a vital role in addressing this issue.
“Addressing hunger is a key part of our corporate social responsibility, our partnership with Island Harvest allows us to do so in a coordinated and impactful way,” states Andy Segal, CEO at Vandis. “It is our hope that partnering with Island Harvest not only strengthens our community bonds, but also inspires other businesses and individuals to get involved and make a difference in the Long Island community”.
